Japan Earthquake Relief Fund Updates
JEN: Moving Service from Shelters to Temporary Housing

December 28, 2011

JEN has been hard at work as relief efforts shift from debris removal and soup kitchens to supporting those living in temporary shelters.

JEN has setup psycho social care programs that encourage survivors of the earthquake and tsunami to communicate with each other, share their experiences, and rebuild their social network.

At one of the “community cafés” opened by JEN, displaced people can have lunch, receive massage therapy, or attend a psycho social support seminar.

Necessary daily items for 7,000 households have also been provided to those moving into temporary housing.
